GREATEST OSUSTECH STUDENTS
Being a press statement on the current state of our dear institution OSUSTECH.
On the issue of registration
Recall that on the 3rd of July, 2017, the University resumed for her 2nd semester 2016/2017 academic session.
Also recall that registration for the current semester began on 3rd of July 2017 and scheduled to end on 21st of July, 2017.
In view of the above, It is worthy of note that the university management has awarded a late penalty of #10,000 for late registration fee.
The students’ Union under the leadership of Hon.(Comr.) Mawonnomi Samuel O. however looked into the matter in connection to the current economic situation of this country and uphold the Oath of Office signed by my humble self and other executive under my watch to always speak the mind of the students and be the voice of the voiceless.
Sequel to the above, we tabled the matter before the management and demand for an extension of four (4) weeks.
Greatest Osustech students, I am glad to inform you that the University management has listened to our plight and plea thereby granting us an extension of three (3) weeks. Many thanks to the University management under the auspices of Prof. Robert S. Ogunduyile for been a true Father.
Therefore, I appeal to my fellow students to make good use of this uncommon opportunity to register for this semester as there will be no extension after this. I must not fail to appreciate the students’ affairs unit and the registrar for the role played in achieving this.
On #10,000 Late registration fee
Let me also state here clearly that, I am working so hard with my executives to see a total downward review of this huge amount slammed on late registration fee.
Let me assure you great Osustech students that, this is also achievable. It is not until we stage protest before we can achieve set goals as *”dialogue is always better than violence”* so great colleagues, I appeal to you all to be patient as we work on the already set out modalities to achieve this.
On shortage of drugs at the University health center
Due to students report of shortage of drugs at the university health center, we have registered our displeasure with the management as some of the executives has visited the health center for inspection.
Let me make this clear, our health is our wealth and at such, we’ll not joke with our health. Therefore, we have made our positions known to the management and the university is already taking solid steps for reimbursement of drugs to the health center.
As a matter of fact, the University management had approved some money for the reimbursement and I can assure you that as soon as the bursar gets to school on Monday to sign the said cheque, there will be immediate supply of drugs.
I want to appreciate my co-executives and the entirety of the student populace for their co-operation since the emergence of this administration and also, let me request for your continuous support especially this second semester where we shall be gradually unveiling and executing our projects.
Furthemore, let me state and assure you all that, we shall continue to be the student’s voices.
We shall continually frown at injustice from any angle during this administration.
Let me finally appreciate the continuous support been giving to us by the current University management been led by our working Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ogunduyile, the baba ewe of Osustech, Dr. Oguntimehin, our wonderful and always listening Dean of Faculty of Science, Prof. Teniola (a renowned Professor), the new Ag. Dean Faculty of Agric. Tech., Prof. Obadofin, Students’ affairs staff and every other staff too numerous to mentioned.
God bless OSUSTECH SU.
God bless OSUSTECH students,
God bless Ondo State,
God bless Nigeria.
Hon.(Comr.) Mawonnomi Samuel O.
