MAN OF THE MATCH MATIC HELPS POGBA SET PERSONAL BEST

For the first time in his career, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has scored in consecutive Premier League appearances.

The 24-year-old struck from distance in the final stages of his side’s 2017-18 Premier League opener against West Ham as the Red Devils cruised to a 4-0 victory at Old Trafford.

Pogba scored a first-half goal in United’s final league fixture in the 2016-17 season in which Jose Mourinho’s beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Nemanja Matic, who was involved in the build-up to Pogba’s effort against the Hammers, was signed by Mourinho to allow Pogba to play in a more advanced midfield role without defensive restrictions.

The former Chelsea midfielder played a major part in United’s thrashing of the West Ham and was subsequently named Man of the Match.

  • How far do you think pogba can go this season.
